Welcome to the Friends of Malawi Association

The Friends of Malawi Association was formed in 1969 to foster friendship, goodwill and understanding between the people of the United Kingdom and the people of Malawi. It is strictly non-political. Many of the 360+ members have lived and worked in Malawi and wish to maintain their links with the country and with one another.

FOMA organizes lecture meetings on Malawi's history and on current events, and social occasions including an annual reception in the Spring and an AGM in September. Most meetings take place in London – for dates see events.

It also raises funds for various projects in Malawi – see projects.

All the donations received and nearly all the subscription income is channeled through the Friends of Malawi Charitable Trust Fund (Charity no. 283563) which can obtain tax refunds under the Gift Aid scheme.

The subscription is £10 (£15 for couples) and is payable by bankers order on 1 October each year. You can join online - see join FOMA .

Volunteers to help run the Association are particularly welcome. The current Committee is listed in about us.

Correspondence and queries should be sent to the Hon. Secretary – see contact us.
